According to a news release from the Hillsborough County Sheriff’s Office, deputies received a 911 call at about 8 a.m.
After extinguishing the fire, officials determined that the victim had upper body trauma, according to the Tampa Bay Times.
“This is a jarring scene,” Hillsborough County Sheriff Chad Chronister said in a statement.
“It is horrific for our deputies to come across a deceased person, and we just want to get justice for this victim’s family, whoever this victim is,” sheriff’s office spokesperson Fentress Fountain told WFLA-TV.
