Latest on COVID-19 in MN: Case counts falling; vaccinations still lagging

As of Saturday’s update the state was averaging fewer than 10,000 COVID vaccinations a day over the past week — the lowest level seen since the earliest weeks of the vaccination effort.

That dropped MN’s 7-day average down to just 102 cases/day.Unless today’s data was artificially low & we’re due for some catch-up, tomorrow could fall beloe 100.

If the end of those restrictions generated more viral spread, it should start showing up in the data early next week.

Case counts had crept up across the state during April following a massive spike in late November and early December.

The vaccination pace, however, is sputtering.

As cases decline, 3 COVID-19 testing sites are closing: Cases, hospitalizations and deaths are all abating, and so is demand for COVID-19 testing.
