Michigan State’s Mel Tucker after first loss: ‘All of our goals are ahead of us’

Purdue put up 594 yards of total offense with quarterback Aidan O’Connell throwing for 536 yards, the fifth-most in a game in Big Ten history.

Walker wasn’t the reason the Spartans lost, though, and no matter the reason, Tucker has a 24-hour rule that he doesn’t let his team dwell on what happened the past week.

Even the games that weren’t as close, after every single game we watch film and say, man, we blew this, or man we had a bust here, or if this one guy hadn’t done this, this would have been a touchdown.

Tucker didn’t make excuses for the loss, though, giving Purdue credit and saying his team was outplayed.

“We didn’t play well enough to win the game, but we have a lot of football ahead of us and all our goals are still ahead of us,” Tucker said.
