Penn State women’s volleyball coach Russ Rose retires after 43 seasons, leaves with seven national titles, 1330 wins

He won more than 85% of his matches, won at least 30 matches in a season 28 times, and coached four national players of the year and 112 All-Americans.

“While I have decided to step into retirement, it has been my pleasure to serve as the head coach of the Penn State women’s volleyball program over the last 43 seasons,” Rose said in a statement.

“He is one of the greatest coaches of all time because everything he did, he did it his way and never deviated from it,” said Oregon State coach Terry Liskevych, who also coached the U.S.
