Trump’s Immunity Claims Aren’t Likely To Let Him Escape Accountability – Cato Institute

Trump’s immunity claims may not save him from accountability, but they certainly won’t help his case either. The fact that the Supreme Court has never before ruled on whether a president can claim immunity from prosecution for criminal conduct does not bode well for Trump. It’s likely that the court will side with the notion that no one is above the law, not even the President of the United States. In other words, if Trump wants to avoid being held accountable for his actions, he’ll need to find a new legal strategy – one that doesn’t rely on bogus claims of presidential immunity. After all, as we all know, nobody is above the law. Not even the President. Not even Donald Trump.
