Cannabis flower continues to reign as king in B.C. | Regina Leader Post

Cannabis sales increased 140 per cent for the fiscal year ended Mar.

Still, it was an improvement over the $5.3 million loss a year earlier, as reported by Marijuana Business Daily.

That growth appeared to be fuelled by more retailers entering the market and improved assortment and supply from licensed producers across all categories, the report states.

In 2020-2021, as was the case a year earlier, “the majority of sales occurred in the dried flower, pre-roll and extracts and concentrates categories,” LDB reports.

“By fiscal year end, the people of British Columbia were being serviced by 305 private cannabis retailers, 25 government-run BCCS and one public online store at BCCannabisStores.com,” notes the LDB, one of two branches of B.C.

Overall, “through its wholesale and retail lines of business, the LDB exceeded its 2020-2021 revenue target and contributed $1.16 billion to help fund important services to British Columbians this year,” R.
