Despite the collection of a 7% wholesale tax, a retail excise tax of 15%, 20% or 25% depending on the product’s THC level, the state’s 6.25% sales tax and the local sales tax rate paid by all retailers, weed sales continue to boom with no indication of supply chain disruptions.

The incredible thing is that the booming industry appears just to be getting started.

Among them, and of note, is stretching the limitations of what the paying public is willing to tolerate when visiting a dispensary to purchase cannabis.

The sleek presentation, hipster vibe and celebrity endorsements likely help mellow the intrusive and rigorous identification checking, overt security presence, strict cash-only policy and sense of being gouged at some facilities.
