Fmr. federal prosecutor: ‘Uphill battle’ for Trump as he tries to argue presidential immunity

So, the whole thing about “presidential immunity” is a bit of a crapshoot. On one hand, you have this guy, Trump, who’s been known to throw some pretty wild curveballs. He might try to argue that he’s above the law because he’s the President, which would be a pretty ballsy move, if you ask me.

On the other hand, we have this former federal prosecutor dude, Michael Zeldin, who seems like he might know his stuff. He thinks that it’s going to be an uphill battle for Trump to make that argument stick. Which, let’s face it, makes sense. I mean, come on, no one’s above the law, right? Not even the President.

And then there’s this New York Times investigative reporter, Susanne Craig. She’s probably got her eye on this situation, ready to dig into it with all the tenacity of a rabid badger. I bet she’d be all over Trump if he tried to pull some kind of stunt like that.

So, in conclusion, while it might be entertaining to watch Trump try to argue his way out of this one, I wouldn’t hold my breath waiting for him to succeed. Seems like common sense and the law are on the side of our old friend Mr. Zeldin. And hey, if this turns into a full-blown showdown, I think I speak for all of us when I say: bring it on! Let’s see how well Trump can hang when he’s up against people who actually know what they’re talking about.
