After the raid, Middleton was released under investigation and had to wait 20 months until she was formally charged with production of a Class B drug.

“If you are a single woman with health problems, you are putting yourself at serious risk every time you have to go to someone’s house, usually a man, to buy cannabis.

“What makes me really angry is the lack of time we have, the lack of empathy, of care,” Hannah Deacon, mother of Alfie Dingley, the first patient in the U.K.
