Police seize $4.5M in illegal cannabis from commercial property in Fergus, Ont.

As part of a probe of criminal organizations that exploit the legal cannabis market, a joint team led by the Ontario Provincial Police executed a search warrant on a commercial property in Fergus on Thursday.

The video does not note if their presence was solely for safety purposes or if the grow-op may have been abstracting electricity, something that has previously tipped off authorities in the U.S., the U.K.

The find has resulted in two men being charged with cannabis and other drug-related offences.

In the last month alone, the OPP has announced more than a handful of multi-million-dollars busts involving illegal grow-ops, including a $6.1 million discovery in Kingsville, a $2 million find in Stirling-Rawdon, a $4.5 million bust in Quinte West and a $14.5 million discovery in St.
