If passed, the town would ban smoking cannabis, and in turn tobacco, in all parks and playground areas.
The ordinance wouldn’t allow any cannabis establishment to be located within 500 feet of any school, child care center, municipal park, recreational facility or library.
A concern arose within the committee that 1000 feet may not be enough distance to avoid a saturation of cannabis dispensaries in one part of town.
It’s a new product for the state of Connecticut and we don’t know how it’s going to be received.
